Doddington, with its neighbouring hamlet of Wychling (or Wichling), is a thriving and friendly village community. Local groups and committees put on a number of events during the year and the village pub, The Chequers Inn, provides good food, ales and entertainment throughout the year. A post office is run from the pub on a Wednesday from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.

A defibrillator provided by the Parish Council is on the north wall of the Village Hall.
